The first images from London’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (play) have been released, and I must say, the casting is damed fine. To give you an idea of how Harry, Ginny and Albus Severus Potter have looked and changed over the years, I’ve put together a few photos.
Harry Potter, as played by Daniel Radcliffe and Jamie Parker:
Ginny Weasley/Potter as played by Bonnie Wright and Poppy Miller:
Albus Severus (*sniff*) Potter as played by Arthur Bowen and Sam Clemmett:
Nicely done, right? Here’s the family (excluding their two other children):
J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany’s collaborative story about Harry and his youngest son opens at the Palace Theater, July 30th. Additionally, Noma Dumezweni (scandalous! NOT) plays Hermione Granger, and Paul Thornley is Ron Weasley. The official synopsis:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”
