Oh, to have the imagination of J.K. Rowling! It wasn’t enough to create the entirety of Harry Potter’s magical world; with a little side trip into Harry’s textbook, her mind was off and running again.
My heroes are always people who feel themselves to be set apart, stigmatized or othered. That’s at the heart of most of what I write.
In a new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them trailer/featurette, the author tells us a little bit more about Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who’s more comfortable with his suitcased creatures than he is around humans. Set against John Williams’ spellbinding score, it takes mere seconds to find yourself completely drawn into New York City’s wizarding world. And the creatures! Here come the creatures! Set your arm hair to attention, because the goosebumps are coming.
Race you to the theater!
