Another day, another round of SDCC 2016 trailers, but throw away your overfed ho-hum instincts because J. K. Rowling has created magic again. We all want to be wizards and we all want to be inside her wonderful imagination; that’s the true author’s spell. Luckily for us, David Yates knows just how to translate her language to the big screen.
With the same sense of wonder Newt Scamander (a perfectly cast Eddie Redmayne) feels — and so many people have felt — seeing the New York City skyline for the very first time, we enter Rowling’s latest world and sink into our expertly tickled senses. Where the first Beasts teaser merely gave us a peek at the wonderful creatures we’ll spy, this trailer takes us a little bit deeper into the story. We get a good look at Colin Farrell’s officer Percival Graves and Jon Voight’s Senator Henry Shaw:
… and just look at the gloriously creaturified Ron Perlman as Gnarlack!
If you don’t watch this trailer at least 3 times, I’ll eat my … oh, just watch it! But wear your protective gear…
Fantastic Beasts also stars Katherine Waterston, Samantha Morton, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Carmen Ejogo. It hits theaters November 18th.
