Well, this news makes the approaching winter sound even longer; after all, the idea of snuggling on the couch with the warmth of Outlander‘s hot cast was something to look forward to. Alas, we’ll have to make do with rewatching the Starz series’ first and second seasons (well, except for that Season 1 episode — you know the one I mean). As revealed by Sam Heughan during a new interview, shooting of Seasons 3 and 4 — covering Diana Gabaldon’s Voyager and Drums of Autumn — will go through May 2017.

So, yeah, it sounds like we may not see new episodes until Summer 2017. That was a cool reveal about where they’ll be shooting the tropical scenes — in South Africa — the actual voyaging part of Voyager.
At least the interview is fun; Heughan dropped a few personal tidbits: He’s most looking forward to
For now, fans can look forward to Thursday’s (September 29th) Sar-sgeoil: Outlander airing. Diana Gabaldon will be speaking on the program about such things as haunted battlefields, specifically at Culloden, where she emotionally shared that she’s felt the people there.
Outlander returns to Starz … someday.
