12 Deadly Days: Just How Dark Would You Like Your Holidays?

Ho ho ho … Yo, Santa! Are you okay?

Honestly, by the look of things the world around, we’re about to be plunged into darkness. I’m talking deep darkness, the kind we’re not exactly sure how we’ll get through or recover from, and sometimes the best thing to do in such a situation is close your eyes and dive in. With Trump at the wheel. a few of those Black Mirror episodes can’t be too far off, but for now, at least we’re still alive. Which brings me back to poor Santa up there; if those really are his boots he’s worse off than we are, and what better way to escape a terrible reality than with a worse-off fantasy world? (Probably a better fantasy world, but ride with me this trip.)

Cue Blumhouse Productions’ (aka Jason Blum) 12 Deadly Days, a series of a dozen interconnected icy tales of terror, where “not everyone survives” the season. Beginning with last night’s “Killer Firs” and “A Haunting at the End of the Street” — a spin on Dickens’ Christmas Carol, starring Bill Moseley as Scrooge — the horror comedy continues with John Kassir, Betty Gabriel, Tom Lenk, Dohn Norwood, Kaitlin Doubleday, and directors like Joe Lynch and Joe Menendez. Check out a couple of the teasers:

Co-created by Chris Culari and Jen Raite (The Sleepover), 12 Deadly Days debuted and continues through December 21st on YouTube Red (free trial available). Grab your weapon of choice and meet me out back.
