Hulu is not playing around. Its upcoming adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s incredible (hopefully nonprescient), terrifying The Handmaid’s Tale is already full of people we can’t wait to see. Now, they’ve added Rory Gilmore aka Alexis Bledel (and Elisabeth Moss’ Mad Men co-star) as Offred’s friend and fellow handmaid, Ofglen. And if you thought you could escape putting up the dough for yet another streaming service, just look at the cast list:
Elisabeth Moss as Offred
Joseph Fiennes as Commander Fred Waterford
Max Minghella as Nick
Samira Wiley as Moira
Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy
O.T. Fagbenle as Luke
Madeline Brewer as Janine
Atwood herself is on board as consultant, so no worries about getting things right. Premiering April 26th, The Handmaid’s Tale should be right at the top of your must-see television list this year, alongside Fargo and Taboo.
* And, here’s Hulu’s first little teaser:
Slightly by the numbers, but I suppose if you’ve never read (slap yourself, and do it now!), that’s a good thing.
