Ewan McGregor Stands Up for Equality and Rebels Against Piers Morgan

Need Obi-Wan’s help?

No problem; he’s got our backs.

We always knew Ewan McGregor was a good guy, and he’s proven it yet again. This past Saturday, the actor tweeted his support of the worldwide Women’s Marches …

… while on the other hand, “television personality” Piers Morgan, took Madonna’s frustrated comments in DC literally, and unilaterally slammed the cause as “violent” and the singer as a feminazi.

Firstly, no one of even the most minor intelligence thinks Madonna hatched a plot against the White House. Secondly, Madonna — who has built her entire career on making over-the-top, ill-advised, in your face provocative statements — made an over the top, ill advised, provocative statement, and that that’s what Piers Morgan  (who clearly has a personal issue with the singer) chose to rage about and to associate the Women’s March with, says everything about him, and nothing about all the glorious, peaceful protesting that went on this past weekend.

Fair enough, that’s his choice. And so, when this morning Ewan McGregor realized Morgan was one of the hosts of Good Morning Britain, he chose not to go.

He chose not to spend time with a person who reduced an entire movement — of millions of people, in over 70 countries — to the words of one, provocative celebrity, and then when McGregor decided not to interview with him, Morgan went full dickhead:

Yeah, Morgan, Ewan McGregor is just a beloved OBE appointed actor, lauded for his humanitarian and charity work, supporter of women and equal rights, and you’re just an angry, resentful dude who, when he’s lucky, gets to interview actors.

Not this time, dude.
