If you’ve seen all the A Cure for Wellness and FX‘s Legion teasers, you can’t help but have the feelings there’s a symbiotic something going on between the two; if Dan Stevens’ David Haller went to Cure‘s wellness center, might he feel more sane? You tell me.
Series creator, Noah Hawley (Fargo) is coming at Haller’s superpowers (he’s Charles Xavier aka Professor X’s son) from a mental health point of view. Bouncing from one psychiatric facility to another and diagnosed as schizophrenic, David is about to discover that’s not all he is.
If a person has been told his whole adult life that he is crazy, then told that what he thought was crazy is real, how does he perceive the world?”
Hawley says because of this angle, he’s had the opportunity to create a surreal world so the audience can experience life through Haller’s lens, and Dan Stevens calls his world “quite bonkers” … which coincidentally, is what our own world feels like right now. Strap in, my friends. Strap in.
Legion stars Stevens, Jean Smart, Jemaine Clement, Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Amber Midthunder, Bill Irwin, Jeremie Harris; it warps our minds beginning February 8th (FX).
