Who Killed Sister Cathy Cesnik? Netflix’s The Keepers Investigates Another Dark Murder Trail

Here we go again, down murder dark path — only this time there’s the Catholic church, priest abuse and an even bigger alleged cover-up than that of Making a Murderer. “The story is the cover-up of the nun’s story”.

Back in 1969 Baltimore, Maryland nun, Sister Cathy Cesnik who taught at Archbishop Keough High School was reported missing, and 48 years later, her murder is still unsolved. Gathering a host of former students is documentarian, Ryan White (Serena, The Case Against 8), including one who says she was brought to Sister Cathy’s lifeless body and given a warning:  “This is what happens when you say bad things about people”. Those things involved the school’s priest, A. Joseph Maskell, who some believe Sister Cathy was about to expose as the perpetrator of horrific abuse against dozens of children. The Keepers irresistible combinations of corruption and lies is a story we need to see uncovered, if nothing else, to help us believe we won’t keep letting such things hide in dark hallways anymore.

Here’s the disturbing trailer.

The Keepers will be available on Netflix, beginning May 19th.
