Game of Thrones Filmed Fake Scenes to Throw Us off the Spoiler Trail (Didn’t Work), and Kit Harington Tries Out All the Leads

With Game of Thrones‘ seventh season nearly upon us, Kit Harington appears to be spokesactor of the hour, and he’s out on the wild publicity trail. The first über-interesting bit of new he dropped on Jimmy Kimmel Live! is that knowing how Spoiler-rabid we of the internet are, there were a few fake scenes shot to throw us off the plotline trail.

He was typically mum about what those scenarios involved, but Harington mentioned that there were three fake-outs he was personally involved in filming, which took about five hours of his off time.

What I can say about this season is we had a lot of paparazzi following us around when we were in Spain, but we did fake some scenes. We put together people in situations where we knew the paparazzi was around, so they’d take photos and that would get on the internet, to fake scenes so people would think we were really … yeah, on my day off. All I can tell you is what you see on the internet might not be true.”

While you’re pondering that, and also the possibility that Harington is just effing with us, have a look at his goofy fake auditions for the roles of Cersei,

and Snow’s lost lover, Ygritte (who was played by Harington’s current real-life partner, Rose Leslie).

His imitations are fun and silly, though there are a couple that fall flat.

Please, no more Arya, Hodor or cotton-balled White Walkers, Kit!

Stick to what you know best …

… er?!!

Um …

If it’s Spoilers you’re really looking for, it seems as if Game of Thrones‘ costume designer, Michele Clapton actually has made a big reveal. Again, ***Major Spoilers for Season 7 follow. Spoiler Warning***

As many people have already guessed, Clapton says Jon Snow will meet up with some key people this season.

We had a lot of discussions about, does the cape give him presence or is it better to not have that presence? What are we trying to say? There are times when we removed it because we wanted him to be more vulnerable. Especially, I think, when he saw Dany and he went to see her for the first time in her chamber, we decided to remove it. But then when he went to see Cersei, we put it on.”

I guess not all those Spain scenes were fake, and this news adds meaning to those first three episode descriptions. Presumably, Jon is the “unexpected visitor Dany receives in “Stormborn”, E2, and could the gift Cersei returns in E3, “The Queen’s Justice” have something to do with Snow?

***End Spoilers***

Finally, head over to Time for a look at some sweet rare pictures of the past.
