There’s a certain someone who really knows how to light up a room, whose presence we’ve been missing in the Marvel world for quite some time. In fact, she used to light up our small screens on a weekly basis until — inconceivably –some fools at ABC managed to forget her worth.
There’s no accounting for foolishness, is there? I mean, this fantastic being, on whom the sun somehow seems to shine just a little brighter than the rest of us,
was clearly born to brighten our world … and this guy’s:
And who knows; with a little luck, maybe Peggy and Steve will meet up again. You’re probably asking yourself what brought about these sentiments (as if we need an excuse)? Oh, just a little something spied on the Twitters this morning …
Look who came by to visit today. pic.twitter.com/mdIElLIEfQ

Why yes, as a matter of fact, that is Hayley Atwell with Marvel Studios co-president, Louis D’Esposito.

And just why might our favorite Hayley have been visiting with the Marvel executive?
Well, there are (at least) two possibilities here. One is that she could appear in Captain Marvel, alongside Brie Larson. As confirmed at SDCC, that movie will take place in the 1990s, making things ripe for a Peggy cameo.
But, there’s also another possibility for the visit; could it be that Peggy Carter might finally get her own film? Hayley’s made it very clear that she’s interested.
I’d love to see [Peggy] more in films. I’d love to see her in her own film. And if we can keep evolving it so that she does new things so that I can surprise myself and she can keep surprising me then I’d love to do it. And I feel very privileged to be part of something that people really love and that entertains them. But also, you’re going to these conventions and meeting people who’ve named their son Carter and people who have a tattoo of ‘I Know My Value’, the tagline. She’s a force of good and there are a lot of social media sites where girls and guys have come together and become good friends on an international scale because of their belief in some of the values that Peggy talks about. And that provides them with a different connection that a family situation or school situation that they don’t really feel they have a place in. That’s really cool to me. So I’m very happy to be a part of that world and keep that going.”
Here’s hoping her tête-à-tête with D’Esposito means our dreams will soon come true and until then, we’ll carry on being highly entertained with the joy of Atwell’s delightful Instagram antics.
