Here’s Your First Look at BBC America’s Fabulous Female Led Spy Thriller, Killing Eve, Created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Since the moment we heard about Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s (Fleabag) new project, the thrill was on. Not only is the fabulous playwright, director and writer an incredible actress, she’s also got a keen mind for developing new projects for other women, as evidenced by this series, which she’s heading up as showrunner, and written.

Killing Eve stars Sandra Oh as the titular — apparently in grave danger — Eve Polastri, a bored MI-5 security officer who dreams of being a spy. Luckily for Eve, her days of boredom are about to go out the window; unfortunately for Eve, that’s because Jodie Comer‘s (The White Princess, Thirteen, Silent Witness) Villanelle — a psychopathic hired killer just sprung from prison — is one her way to assassinate Eve. Based on the Luke Jennings novels, this action-thriller finds the two women playing an epic cat and mouse game, and here’s the first series photos:

Co-starring are Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Elena, Eve’s assistant, Fiona Shaw as lead MI-6 agent Carolyn Martens, Kim Bodnia as Konstantin, Owen McDonnell as Niko Polastri, David Haig (Penny Dreadful), and Sean Delaney.

Killing Eve premieres on BBC America April 8th.
