Back when he was just a young lad, renowned actor and noted dog lover,
Tom Hardy (aka “Tommy No 1”) scored himself a recording deal — not, as you might expect, crooning Beatlesesque love ballads … more like, Eminem, though admittedly, with less angst.
Because I come from a nice middle-class neighbourhood it was a very hard sell. And I wasn’t very good!
I used to be with the guy who managed Leela James and Lauren Hill, Pras, the Fugees and all that. I worked out with (Grammy winning producers) Warren Riker and Gordon Williams. I’ve recorded loads of stuff but it’s never been released.”
Er, surprise, Tom! Producer, Edward Tracy aka “Eddie Too Tall” just put the entirety of your 1990 catalog — “Made in a bedroom 1999 these mixtapes were never really finished” on Bandcamp and perhaps to the wonderment of everyone, it’s … not terrible. A little cheesetastic, but definitely not embarrassing for a teenager.
Check out Hardy’s French on Treason, and I suggest you snuggle up with your favorite pup while listening.
