It Takes a Monster to Stop a Monster: Jessica Jones Explores Her Own Origin Story, and Is Kilgrave Back?

As evidenced by everything in Jessica Jones behaviour during Season 1, our heroine is a reluctant one. She doesn’t exactly understand why she has particular powers, nor what to do with them — other than defend herself.

So, it’s no surprise Jessica wants to dig a little deeper into how she came to be the “superhero” she finds herself expected to be, but what is a shock is who seems to show up at the end of this trailer.

I know those hands, and you know those hands, and Jessica knows those hands …

… if there was any doubt, note the purple glow. Also note that David Tennant is confirmed to appear in Season 2, something we can all be thankful for because his Kilgrave was one of the best parts of the series. Now, whether he’s only in Jessica’s mind, or somehow managed to circumvent the neck-snapping we all saw with our own eyes, remains to be seen.

The returning cast also includes Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss and Eka Darville; Leah Gibson joins as Ingrid, J.R. Ramirez as Oscar, and Janet McTeer is playing a major character who has a huge influence over Jessica’s life.

Jessica Jones returns to Netflix March 8, 2018.
