If you’re signed up at Westworld‘s Delos site, occasionally you’ll receive updates from an online Host called “Aeden“, who may or may not be able to answer questions you have about the fictional park. Today, I got this message, inviting a look around the site’s “newest offerings”.
Obsessed Westworld-er that I am, of course I ventured over to have a looksie and of course, things are still glitchy.
You can, however, see Delos’ current job openings (with a reminder from tptb that this is all fake, because it’s a little too easy to get lost in Westworld’s alternate reality), and OF COURSE I applied to replace Ford as Park Director …
From the fuzzy hairline, I’d guess that’s Peter Abernathy on the table (especially since he seemed to be under duress in the recent teaser).
Still, going by their tempting career video, who wouldn’t want to be a Delos employee?
I’m not sure we’ve ever seen this much of an outer view of the “hub”, which still looks a bit otherworldly to those of us entertaining space theories. Before you laugh yourself into a coma, the song playing over that video is What We’ve Borrowed by MEET ME IN ORBIT. (And, *ahem* Elon Musk — who has a serious eye on colonizing Mars — did speak at the SXSW Westworld panel.)
There are many interesting “opportunities” at Delos.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, after you apply for your dream job, things go a bit glitchy. At the very least, though, you’ll soon be rewarded with a mobile game, which may or may not exist in the Upside Down.
Okay, now I really want a Westworld/Stranger Things crossover.
Westworld‘s second season — code name “The Door”
If the first season was a journey inward, this is a journey outward. This is a search for what is else is beyond the park, and what else is in the park. Are there more parks? How big is the park? What’s beyond the park? We think of our seasons as discrete components in the series, to the point where we’ve named our seasons. The first season was called ‘The Maze’. The second season is called ‘The Door’.” (Jonathan Nolan)
— premieres on HBO April 22nd.
