We’re not in Kansas Massachusetts, anymore.
Oh wait, maybe we are …
but the question seems to be more “When are we?” (1990s) than where, in this first trailer for Captain Marvel. Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers (part human, part Kree) appears to be working out a few things, herself — with a little help in the form of digitally youth-enised Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). A kickass Air Force pilot who later joins NASA, Carol’s origin story may be coming at us in warp speed, but a superhero’s got to get going if she’s — as many suspect — key to helping out a few Avengers …
Check out the highly intriguing teaser Marvel just dropped today:
Clearly, your favorite moment should be this one,
and even more transparent is that the woman on the receiving end of a Marvelous punch is a disguised enemy, probably Skrull (shape-shifting aliens). I can’t wait to see that scene in its entirety.
With a full roster of incredible actors, including Jude Law as Mar-Vell/Walter Lawson, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, and Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Captain Marvel‘s been on our minds for quite some time, and it’s thrilling to finally get a peek at Larson in action.
I leave you with baby Coulson,
and young Nick Fury.
Though, we all know who we’re really here for.
Captain Marvel is written by a host of women (!), Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half-Nelson, Sugar, Mississippi Grind), and it hits theaters next March (8, 2019).
