Guys, oh my gosh. Guys. The fight to save The Expanse is well-documented; after its shock cancellation, fans across the world came together to show just how important it was and what it meant to us. The result was at first, just heartwarming — in spite of bad news, the show creators, the actors, got to see just how beloved they were. If that was all we could do, it would have been enough.
That wasn’t, as it turned out, all we could do, because, we got the show saved. And, not just saved. Fans have ‘rescued’ series before, but the end result was rarely what was hoped for — usually we just get a shortened final season with no budget, and barely enough time to tie up the story to a satisfying resolution.
The Expanse fans were having none of that noise. We didn’t want a pity season; we wouldn’t accept a consolation prize. So, we fought and we won, and The Expanse secured a home on Amazon Studios, a permanent home and a long-lasting one, if reports are to be believed.
There has been much discussion of what the switch to streaming will mean, along with the massively improved budget — longer episodes for starters, less … restrictions, so more adult themed fun — more sex, more blood and gore, more everything.
After months of waiting, The Expanse season four has begun shooting and Amazon has released and exclusive, behind the scenes look at the first day on set. I don’t know about you, but this literally makes me cry with happiness;
Look! Look at Naomi’s hair! Everyone is there and looks so happy! You’d better believe that we’ll be recapping and reviewing when The Expanse makes its glorious return to our screens, so keep your eyes on Oohlo for updates!
